Need a quick way to set up RSS in OneCampus?
Using the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) connector, OneCampus customers will be able to display campus news that will facilitate a connection to RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds and retrieve messages from them to show up in the Targeted Notifications area.
Use the RSS Connector
- Begin by clicking the Advanced menu, then click Connectors.
- From the Connectors screen, click the Configure button next to RSS Connector.
- From the Configure RSS Connector screen, toggle the connector status button to the right to activate connector (it is now green). *If you do not want the connector to go live, you may leave the toggle button off and your data will be saved once you select the save button at the bottom of the page.
- In the RSS URLs text area, enter your RSS URLs* that your RSS feed will pull through to. Use a new line to enter multiple URLs.
*An example of the correct RSS URL format would be: http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss - If you want the RSS feed to show up to specific Campuses or Roles, enter your RSS URL under either RSS -> Campus or RSS -> Role and click on ADD. This will make the RSS feeds show only to the specified Campuses/Roles.
- Click the SAVE button for the Connector to start pulling the RSS feed*.
*The RSS feed can take up to 10 minutes to show up or update in the targeted notifications area. New feeds are pulled every 10 minutes so please refrain from using it for emergency purposes.
