Active Content Connector – Quick Start Guide

Need a quick way to set up Active Content within Tasks in OneCampus?

Using the Active Content Connector tool, OneCampus customers will be able to display campus news that will facilitate a connection to RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds and retrieve messages from them to show up as active content on Tasks/Task Centers.

Use the Active Content Connector

  1. Begin by clicking the Advanced menu, then click Connectors.
  2. From the Connectors screen, click the Configure button next to Active Content Connector.
  3. From the Configure Active Content Connector screen, toggle the connector status button to the right to activate connector (it is now green). *If you do not want the connector to go live, you may leave the toggle button off and your data will be saved once you select the save button at the bottom of the page.
  4. From the Configure Active Content Connector screen, select a task or task center that your RSS feed will pull through to. [Required]
  5. Then, enter your RSS URL* for either a task or task center. [Required]
*An example of the correct RSS URL format would be: http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss
  6. Click the SAVE button for the Connector to create your Active Content tasks or task centers. [Required]
