Banner Connector - Quick Start Guide

Need a quick way to set up your Banner related tasks in OneCampus?

Using the Connector tool, OneCampus customers (who also use Banner as their student information system) can seamlessly create multiple Banner tasks at the same time. This first version of the Banner Connector will be of most benefit to new OneCampus clients. Future versions will add features that help more established implementations as well.

Use the Banner Connector

  1. Begin by clicking the Advanced menu, then click Connectors.
  2. From the Connectors screen, click the Configure button next to Banner Connector Version 8. Version 8 is the only Banner connector currently available.
  3. From the Configure Banner Connector screen, enter your Banner URL. [Required]
  4. Select a Publisher from the Default Publisher dropdown. [Required]
  5. Select a Category from the Default Category dropdown. [Required]
  6. Select a Primary Contact from the Default Primary Contact dropdown. [Required]
  7. Select an image from the Default image set dropdown. [Required]
    • Once an image is selected a preview of it will show up in the image preview.
    • If the image you want to use is not listed in the image dropdown, it will need to be added beneath Maintain Shared Task Images.
  8. Designate whether or not you want the Banner tasks you are creating to open up in a new tab/window when they are launched.
    • This box will be checked by default.
    • Uncheck if you do not wish for the tasks you are creating to open in a new tab or window.
  9. Indicate the Task Status.
    • Check this box if you want the tasks to go live within your OneCampus tenant right away.
    • If you want the tasks to remain in an inactive status after they are created, leave this box unchecked.
      • Inactive (unchecked) is the default status.
  10. Designate which student tasks you want the connector to create.
    • These boxes will all be checked by default.
    • If you do not want to create all of these Banner sections as individual tasks within your OneCampus tenant, uncheck the corresponding boxes of those you do not wish to create.
  11. Designate which faculty/staff tasks you want the connector to create.
    • These boxes will all be checked by default.
    • If you do not want to create all of these Banner sections as individual tasks within your OneCampus tenant, uncheck the corresponding boxes of those you do not wish to create.
  12. Click the Execute button for the Connector to create your Banner tasks.

Notes:

- Running this connector will always create tasks in the system. If you've already run it before, you will be creating duplicate tasks.
