Use this report to identify bad URLs that are resulting in a “Page not Found” error for your end users.
For example, after a school has cut over from their old portal to their new OneCampus instance, users might have a lot of old bookmarked URLs that will no longer be valid. This report will help you identify those bad URLs. Then using the “Page Not Found Map” setting (located under the Advanced menu >Settings >Page Not Found Map) you can redirect them to the correct URL or a page explaining the change. Data in the Page Not Found Report is only available for the preceding 30 days. Administrators can clean up the data in the Page Not Found report by visiting the Maintenance module and specifying a date to clear data from.
Access the Page Not Found Report
- Click the Reporting menu, then select Page Not Found.
- From the Page Not Found screen, you will see a listing on all of the invalid URLs, the date of the last time that URL was clicked and the total number of times that invalid URL was clicked by end users.
- Use the blue menu button to Toggle the filtering, export the data to a CSV file or unhide columns.
Redirect bad URLs using the Page Not Found Map
OneCampus Administrators can redirect bad URLs using the Page Not Found Map within your settings. Start by visiting the Advanced menu > Settings >Page Not Found Map. This setting allows you to insert a bad URL into the Bad URL field and then indicate the redirect URL in the Redirect to URL field.
Once you click the green Add button and Save, the system will begin to redirect your end users away from the bad URL, to the new URL you have specified.
Update the Page Not Found text
OneCampus Administrators can update the Page Not Found text that is displayed when an end user clicks a bad URL. Start by visiting the Advanced menu > Settings >Page Not Found Text and replace the default message with your own personalized message.
- End Users visiting a URL that has not been redirected using the Page Not Found Map will see your custom text, similar to this example:
