Your one-stop-shop for granting permissions within your OneCampus tenant.
Located beneath the Advanced menu, the Permission Groups module is the place to go for granting permissions to Admins and Publishers as well as granting access for things like feedback, branding, workflow approvals, announcements and reports.
Add a Permission Group
- Begin by clicking the Advanced menu, then click Permission Groups.
- Click the +New Permission Group button and enter the Name of the user/group. [Required]
- Perrmission Groups can can be a single user or a group (e.g. John Smith or Student Services)
- Enter a Description for this Permission Group. [Optional]
- Select the Permission Levels for this user. [Required]
- Check the boxes for the specific permissions you would like to apply to this user/group.
- If Admin is selected, the remaining options will gray out so that they can not be selected. This is due to the fact that Admins have the highest level of permissions.
- If Alerts is selected, the user/group will be allowed to post alerts within the tenant.
- If Approval is selected, the user/group will be allowed to approve or decline tasks submitted by publishers.
- If Branding is selected, the user/group will be able to edit branding for the tenant.
- If Feedback is selected, the user/group will be allowed to view the feedback page.
- If Global Announcements is selected, the user/group will be able to add/edit/remove global announcements.
- If Publisher is selected, the user/group will be granted Publisher access within the tenant.
- Checking this box opens additional fields that allow you to either copy a current Publisher or create a new Publisher.
- If you are choosing to copy a current Publisher, select the Publisher that you wish to copy from the drop down. The system will then fill in the remaining fields such as the notification preferences, restrictions and ACL’s from the settings previously saved for this Publisher beneath the Maintain Publishers module.
- If you are choosing to create a new Publisher, you will need to complete the additional optional fields relating to notification preferences and restrictions. Then, proceed to step 5 for instruction on adding an ACL.
- Checking this box opens additional fields that allow you to either copy a current Publisher or create a new Publisher.
- If Reports is selected, the user/group will have access to view or download the reports within the reports module.
- If Support is selected, the user/group will be able to see the task support information page.
- If Task Announcements is selected, the user/group will be able to add/edit/remove Task Level Announcements.
- If Task Centers is selected, the user/group will be able to add/edit/remove Task Centers.
- Check the boxes for the specific permissions you would like to apply to this user/group.
- Configure the ACL Expressions to define rights for the user/group. [Required]

If a Publisher is a single individual (e.g. Joe Publisher):

Select Or from Group ACL Expression drop down

Click the green [+] sign

Select Condition from Expression Type

Select a unique identifier from the Value dropdown (in the example, we selected EmailAddress)

In the Is Equal To box, enter the user’s email address or username, etc. (whatever matches the Value selected)

Click Add

If adding a group (e.g. Student Services) you would need to add each user’s unique identifier.

Be sure to use the “Or” ACL Expression to separate each.

Click “Save” and repeat these steps above as needed to setup additional Permission Groups.
Notes:
- Please see the Quick Guide entitled “Permissions - Administrators, Publishers and Permission Groups” to view a complete list of the differences between Administrator and Publisher access.
- The Permission Groups feature currently works in coordination with the different ACLs available under Settings. We hope that, over time, those ACLs will be retired and Permission Groups will be the sole area for assigning permissions.
